Cafe Atara opened on Ben Yehuda Street in 1938 and for over sixty years it was the coffeehouse in Jerusalem, the one where writers and politicians sat for hours over Turkish coffee and French onion soup while arguing about everything. This design comes from an original Atara advertisement that ran across Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem. The cafe closed in 2000 but the crown logo still looks as good as it did in the 1940s.
