The Art Deco window grille of Jerusalem's Eden Cinema, traced from the real building, with a sunrise climbing the glass. קולנע עדן up top, CINEMA EDEN below, EST. 1928. And yes, the Hebrew is a letter short, on purpose. It is spelled the way it read on the building's own sign, one vav shy of the dictionary, same as the Orion. If you have stood on Agrippas and clocked it, this one is for you.

The Eden opened in 1928 as an open-air summer cinema in the city garden, became a proper hall, and ran until 1990. They took the building down in 2015. For old Jerusalemites, Deco lovers, and anyone who misses the neighborhood cinema. Printed on a soft, comfortable tee.
